A Message from the Premier: MTSSO Honoured at Annual Celebration Dinner

At this year’s Annual Celebration Dinner, held on June 25, 2025, The Mission to Seafarers Southern Ontario was deeply honoured to receive a letter of recognition from the Honourable Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario.

This thoughtful message from the Premier acknowledged the essential work of MTSSO in caring for the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the seafarers who pass through our ports. In his letter, Premier Ford commended our organization’s ongoing commitment to hospitality, support, and human connection for those whose work so often goes unseen yet remains vital to our global economy.

Receiving this message of appreciation from the Province of Ontario was a meaningful moment for our team, our board, and all our volunteers and supporters. It serves as a reminder that the efforts we make locally are valued not only by the seafarers we serve, but also by the broader community and leaders across the province.

As we gather with friends, partners, and sponsors at our Celebration Dinner, it is a joy to reflect on how far we’ve come and a privilege to know that our mission is recognized at the highest levels.

We are grateful to Premier Ford for his kind words and for acknowledging the importance of seafarer welfare in Ontario. Together, with the support of our community, we remain committed to walking alongside those who work at sea by offering a warm welcome, a listening ear, and the reminder that they are never forgotten.
